Product premiere: Embedded control C6 COMPACT 3
It is the right choice for the automation of applications with low to medium complexity: The new C6 COMPACT 3 control from KEB Automation. It was now presented for the first time at SPS 2022 in Nuremberg. Its control concept is based on the Linux operating system and offers an open microservice architecture. Docker technology allows various software functions to be integrated and organised. This brings functionality and cost efficiency into harmony. The system is future-proof thanks to the use of the latest multi-core technology and real-time motion control – programmable via IEC 61131.
The C6 COMPACT 3 can be used for various tasks in addition to the actual machine automation. For example, it can act as a gateway between a higher-level control system and a programmable control system with KEB Motion functionality. Among other things, an OPC UA server (in future also TSN) serves as an interface. Furthermore, the control can be used as an HMI server device. It realises the communication with one or more 3rd party systems and enables browsers to make the contents available via an HMI server. The microservice architecture of the COMPACT 3 ensures simple integration of various software components.
