EtherCAT activation for KEB COMBIVERT F5
Control with EtherCAT - more than a trend
After the introduction of the Ethernet topology in the process and automation engineering follows the logical step, to transfer the optimized hardware costs of the connection technique also into the field level.
With KEB COMBIERT F5 a complete drive generation is available for open-loop and closed-loop tasks in the power range from 0.37 to 900 kW that can be easily and economically connected to available EtherCat controls of different brands.
In addition to the functional integration into the fieldbus, the modularity of the pluggable host controller board EtherCAT-Operator supports above all the philosophy of unrestricted availability of all variants. In the place of an EtherCAT-specific special unit KEB sets on the proven equipment standard and offers with the module on an identical drive hardware an additional functionality without special logistic.
This is particularly important for machine manufacturers, who have to use different control brands specified by their end customer - without having to create the core functionality of the drive repeatedly.
