KEB - From the foundation until today and into the future
Starting with six employees in 1972 (the year the company was founded), by the year 2012 more than 1,200 KEB employees worldwide provide products of high quality, competent advice and global service.
A high degree of vertical integration at state-of-the-art production facilities as well as our broad application experience for nearly all areas of modern mechanical and plant engineering ensure the success of the company. While initial production processes took place over an area of 1100 m², this area has grown over the years to over 35,000 m² at our headquarters in Barntrup.
The initial focus was on the design and production of electromagnetic clutches and brakes. Since the early 1980's we have also been working in the area of electronic drive systems. The fields of application starting, stopping, positioning, open- and closed-loop control of complex machines are competently and safely addressed by a complete program of modern electronic and mechanical drive and control systems. We consider this process of continuous advancement the foundation for continuing to make an active contribution to your applications in the future.
In order to offer a complete drive package from the mains supply to the machine shaft from one source, KEB has been supplementing its range of products with its own gear motors since 1993; these motors are manufactured at Schneeberg (Saxony), from where they are also shipped out.
True to the motto "Designed in Germany - Made for the World" the company consistently addresses customer requirements for global availability.
By establishing production facilities in Shinjo (Japan), Shakopee, Minnesota (USA) and Songjiang (China / near Shanghai), we are increasingly in a position to meet this challenge, to maintain a global presence with the finishing of our electronic, magnetic and gear technology.
